Home to a beautiful pond and variety of rooms
Tel: (086) 312 087

Description
This family-run guesthouse has a range of rooms located on its large grounds, which include a huge pond. Rattan and wood bungalow-style rooms out the back fall into two categories. The cheapest are standard-sized, clean and decent, with bathrooms including a cold shower and squat toilet. Two other larger conjoined rooms have small balconies that lead onto the pond. Their bathrooms have a western toilet and supposedly hot showers but we couldn't get them to heat up. Inside the main building are large concreted rooms with bathrooms, hot showers and western toilets.

ok place -
By zomerwoning ( total comments: 6  More information please ) Stayed here 8/2007
we stayed here for one nighy and didn't see the place by daylight. We enjoyed the laotian interior design of our room with private baththub (beautifull chinese landscape painting on the tiles of this bathroom!)! inside the main building very much. Paul en Jeroen, Amsterdam

Gold Source Guesthouse

Friendly staff speak good English at the hidden-away Gold Source, which has sweetly decorated rooms. Most have a shared bathroom, with squat toilet and cold shower, but heated water is available if you ask. Rooms themselves are clean, though smallish, with mosquito nets, but no fan unless you ask.... more

Bus Station Guesthouse

The Bus Station Guesthouse is located right where it should be. Surprisingly, it's actually a good choice, with three different room options. Cheapest are rooms with rattan walls, quite dark, but fan-cooled with a squat toilet and cold water shower. Second are rooms within a concrete building,... more

Bounthavong Guesthouse

Located quite near the bus station, Bounthavong has clean, basic rooms with wooden walls, a fan, mosquito net and clean bedding. The shared bathrooms with a squat toilet and hot shower are also clean. A small balcony at the front has street views, and a larger one out the back is covered with... more

Saikhonglongsack Guesthouse

Although the rooms are small and basic at Saikhonglongsack, they are extremely clean. All rooms are fan-cooled and have a bathroom with hot shower and squat toilet. The restaurant downstairs serves good Chinese food. Staff are also Chinese and speak only limited English and Lao, but communication... more

Phaykham Guesthouse

The foyer area of this guesthouse has been converted into a Lao-style disco. Barely separated from the other half of a large room, there are boards on the ground to designate a dance floor, and the walls are lined with booth-style heavy sofas. It looks like the perfect place for prosperous Lao men ... more

Pengtavy Guesthouse

A short way out along the Luang Nam Tha road, Pengtavy sits with its lovely carved wooden exterior, above Panda Restaurant. The area is quiet, and backs onto rice fields and water lilies. Be warned, however, that a number of construction sites are springing up in the area, so the quietness may not... more

Hong Tha Xaysomboun Hotel

The Hong Tha is very different in style and size to any of the other guesthouses in the area. It comes across as an old-style hotel or country inn, and is very rundown. The grounds are large, lined by rows of rooms, and filled with unfinished mechanical projects. Rooms themselves are clean, most... more

Cha Rueh Sin Guesthouse

Staff are not very helpful at this very Chinese guesthouse -- in fact, don't even go inside because you might bother them or interrupt their game of Chinese chess. Situated above a restaurant on a crossroads facing the bus station, the rooms here are dirty. They have a fan and mosquito net, and a... more

Keosouphone Guesthouse and Restaurant

The newly-opened Keosouphone has quite clean rooms, some with bathrooms that have squat toilet and hot shower, and some without. All rooms have a fan and mosquito net, some have furniture. A couple of rooms have TVs, but no English-language channels. Downstairs is a restaurant with a standard... more

Manychan Guesthouse and Restaurant

Due to its location in the centre of town and on the main street, Manychan is a popular choice. Rooms are basic but clean, with fan but no mosquito net, and the walls have an unfinished look to them. Bathrooms are shared and quite clean given they suffer so much traffic - they service the busy... more

Oudomsinh Guesthouse

Tucked away in a back street of Luang Nam Tha, the grounds of Oudomsinh are large, but unexcitingly paved with gravel. Two separate clusters of buildings are on offer. Creamy yellow huts have clean, pleasant rooms, with a fan, mosquito net and a window. The bathroom has a squat toilet and a cold... more

Palanh Guesthouse

Palanh has large, plain rooms that are nice and clean, most with an attached bathroom including a western toilet and hot water shower. One room has no bathroom, but access to two shared - one with a hot shower and one with cold. Rooms are decent and cleaner than many of their competitors, but this... more

Darasavath Guesthouse

Darasavath has cheaper rooms made of rattan with neither fan nor mosquito net, and grotty bathrooms with a cold shower and a squat toilet. Stained sheets on the beds and a lack of pillow and quilt covers don't add much to the atmosphere. The pricier selection are much cleaner and worth the extra... more

Vila Guesthouse

Vila Guesthouse is pretty far out of town, but still only a couple of minutes by bicycle. A large balcony has couches with a view over this pleasant area. Rooms are a bit grotty, but not too bad. Most have a bathroom with western toilet and solar-heated hot shower, so hot water is not guaranteed in... more

Singsavanh Guesthouse

This small guesthouse on the opposite end of town to the bus station is run by a lovely family. Rooms are basic - upstairs small wooden rooms house tiny beds with mosquito nets, with a shared downstairs bathroom. Downstairs rooms are concrete and quite clean, with one large bed and a shared... more
