Thoulasith Guest House
Best in town

What we say:
This new, two-storey joint claims on its business card to be the best guesthouse in Luang Nam Tha, and you know what, they're right. While the rooms aren't the biggest on the blog, they are the best. Very comfortable beds with, wait for it, real bedding. Immaculate bathrooms, with the most expensive rooms including a real, adult-sized bathtub! What better way to soak off that trekking dust! Staff don't speak much English, but they're friendly and try hard and we'd guess once word gets out about this place you'll see some better English on the front desk. Free WiFi. Rates are a steal -- highly recommended.

No hot water
As they use sun heaters, no hot water on cloudy days. Zuela has the same price, 70.000lak, and every day a clean room and towels. A better bet.

Clean and quiet
After staying in a place down the road next to a club, I moved here and it was worth the extra cost. The rooms are clean, big bed, tv with english channels, and hot water. Free wifi. Even though you enter from the main street, there is no noise from the main street. Nice courtyard for meeting other travellers. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Great place!
We had the pleasure of staying at Thoulasith the summer of 2011. The rooms were new and clean with two beds and a spacious bathroom with hot shower. The staff working here were extremely friendly and one of the younger staff even had a ''crash course'' in Lao language with us (which came in handy). Free Wifi, balconies in the upper rooms and BBC news on the TV should also be mentioned. Thoulasith guesthouse is definitely the place to stay in Luang Nam Tha!

Paradise found
After coming across from China, we thought this place was a great find. It cost us 50000Kip for a largish room with double bed, fan,tv,ensuite bathroom. We stayed on two seperate occasions once on the ground floor and then on the first floor. Both rooms pretty much same same. Spotless, new fixtures and furniture still in good condition. Complemtary coffee and tea in the mornings at reception. Older lady on reception doesn't speak any English and neither does the cleaner but there are some younger staff usually around that speak excellent English and are very friendly and enthusiastic. They are also involved with one of the trekking companies down the road so you may land up with one of them as your guide. There is seating on the shared balcony on the first floor and a largish garden with seating also. No breakfast served but there are loads of options. Minority restaurant is next door. Guesthouse is off the road so was also quiet. It's not a hostel so don't expect a vibey hangout. No computers, but free WiFi available in rooms also. We thought this was an overall great place for a quiet few days.
