What we say:

In the cluster of guesthouses packed behind Chao Fa Ngum road, Tanoy is a reliable choice with something to suit all budgets. Most rooms are fan-cooled with firm beds, but the larger rooms (one with a private balcony) now have air-con but still no TVs. With the exception of a few cheapies that share facilities, rooms have attached bathrooms with Western toilet and hot shower. Tanoy, the owner, is friendly and a good resource for local information. While this is a fine guesthouse, there's little to differentiate it from those guesthouses next door. Breakfast isn't served, but Joma Café is a stone's throw away.

Great room

We stayed in the front room with the verandah - visible in the photo. The room was very large, 2 db, 1 sg and had 5 windows, so bright and airy. Beds firm but not rocklike. Private bathroom - everything worked well. The laneway was reasonably quiet and close to the nightmarket. We paid 18USD for 3 people. Would definitely stay there again. The only staff we saw was Tanoy herself, not sure about speaking 'great English' but certainly very helpful.
