Tanoy runs this self-named guesthouse, with simple but pleasant rooms. Some have a private bathroom with western toilet and hot shower, and one of these is blessed with a small private balcony, which looks down into a neighbour's lovely garden. All rooms are fan-cooled. Staff are lovely and speak passable English. Tanoy herself is a good resource if you want to know about tourist sites and what to visit around Luang Prabang, though others behind the desk may prove less helpful. Rates are about 25% less for single rooms.

Great room - 29th October, 2007
We stayed in the front room with the verandah - visible in the photo. The room was very large, 2 db, 1 sg and had 5 windows, so bright and airy. Beds firm but not rocklike. Private bathroom - everything worked well. The laneway was reasonably quiet and close to the nightmarket. We paid 18USD for 3 people. Would definitely stay there again. The only staff we saw was Tanoy herself, not sure about speaking 'great English' but certainly very helpful.
