Once a lovely residential area, it seems every home has been converted into a guesthouse in this neighbourhood. Xaysana was one of the first, so there are some quirks in the design like thin walls and oddly-shaped hallways. Rooms are very white and quite bare, with just one or two hard beds and a dressing table. The attached bathrooms have hot showers and are passably clean, though we noticed a musty smell in some. There's not much to recommend this guesthouse over others, but the family who run it are nice and prices are competitive. They also offer laundry service, motorbike rentals, tours and bus tickets.
