Levady is located in a small, picturesque laneway, just off the central strip of Luang Prabang's tourist district. It's a bit hard to find as there is no sign from the main street. To get there, walk one block northeast past the palace on Sisavangvong Road and turn left down a small laneway. Levady is about a quarter of a block down on the left. The area is leafy and tropical, and surrounded by wats and traditional Lao buildings. More than half the rooms are upstairs, made of well-polished wood. They are small but clean. Bathrooms have hot shower and western toilet. One room, at the front, is blessed with a private balcony. The staff is sweet and quickly makes guests feel at home.

Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. A Mish-Mash - 19th June, 2007
Currently staying at the Levady (19/06/07) and its not bad, the owner its pretty reluctant to tell you the price when you ask for a room, for single $8 at the moment but im staying for $6 with a bit of haggling. the beds dont come with any sheets etc.. just the mattress with a cover and a pillow. just a single sheet would be nice since the room isnt mosqueto free. The bathroom is a little dirty, i think the shower curtain is alive. and the water pressure is abit inconsistant, especially around late afternoon. If you do dare lift up your matress your likly to find old condom packets there are several under mine but no wildlife that i saw.the place is nice enough, if i was to stay here longer id possibly move elsewhere somewhere with aircon, the fan is effective but only on high which loud and the shutters dont close well so its kind of constant heat coming in.
The folks running the place seem really friendly, and the elderly woman downtairs seems to live for someone to say sabaaidi.

Expensive and not super-clean - 1st February, 2007
We payed $12 for a room (which was pretty expensive) and had a problem with the cleanliness (as advertized on this website). When you actually lift up the bed (which takes up half of your room) you'll find a lot unexpected surprises. The location on the other hand couldn't be better.

not so nice - 15th December, 2006
we showed up inquiring about a room and they were not very accomidating. We planned on being in town for two weeks and they would not reserve a room for us. plus the cheapest rooms were 15.00!! not what this website says?

Not too bad... - 15th December, 2006
Might be a lot nicer if you do get the room at the front, but we were at the back...
The room was entirely wood lined with one very weak light - picture a large wooden coffin and you're pretty much there. We paid $10 US and could have done a lot better for our money. Especially if we'd stayed somewhere without a screaming cat outside our room all night!!
Location was great though, right off the main tourist drag in town.

Great location and value - 22nd November, 2006
Levady Guesthouse is a lovely place. It is just off the main tourist strip in a leafy quiet street. We stayed in two other places in Luang Prabang and this was the nicest and the cheapest. The rooms were lovely wood and very clean. The front room has a lovely balcony (there is a side balcony for people in other rooms). For those looking for a precise address, most people in Luang Prabang don't use street addresses. You can just head to the main tourist strip on Sisavangvong Rd though and it is just down an alley (all the locals know it). There is a Wat at the end of the alley but can't remember the name.
