Ban Pack Luck Villa

Great rooms, friendly staff

Originally intended for rental as a private house, Ban Pack Luck Villa was swiftly converted into a guesthouse after someone noticed that they had forgotten the kitchen. The stylish guesthouse features beautifully done rooms with unusual attention to small details. All bathrooms are lovely, with hot shower and Western toilet. Some rooms are tiny, although clean and simple. Rooms 1 and 3 are the best on offer, with several windows, more space and large bathrooms, which even boast baths. Prices are a little high for the standard, but Pack Luck is still worth considering. Previously known as Semiya Guesthouse. Rates for high season may include breakfast. Pack Luck's newest effort is a great little wine bar on the main road done up in the same contemporary style.

Ban Pack Luck Villa reviews

Read 3 opinions from Travelfish readers

Great Place ! - 3rd November, 2006
I didn't find the staff here useless at all. I stayed in room 4 (double bed and en suite) for $20 a night and it was clean, great aircon, fridge in room and en suite BATH TUB(with shower) Have since recommended it to friends and will stay here again next year.

Good location - 28th May, 2007
The guesthouse is strategically located: only a five minutes walk to the main street - Sisavangvong Street. In addition, it is plonked right in front of the temple where you can catch a glimpse of the alsmgiving process every morning without getting out of your room (should you so choose to do so!) The rooms at level one are crappy with no view; but the corner rooms on level 2 offer good lounging out balconies for you to chill out. A word of caution: the morning prayer - real early - can be quite loud. The good thing is that it doesn't last for more than 10 mins.

Price Rise - 18th January, 2007
We checked out Pack Luck. Downstairs room had gone up to $45 per night in January, no breakfast included. Room looked lovely, and mattresses reasonable ( big issue in Laos where they are mostly rock hard), but better value can be found.
