Former royal residence Villa Santi has a great location in the centre of town, and access to the more spacious resort facilities outside of town. As in much of Luang Prabang, prices have unjustifiably risen significantly in the last few years , with not a lot to show for it. Rooms are quite small, particularly in the older original building. While pleasant, they are a little old-fashioned, with no TV, although for some this may add to the charm. The traditional decor is tastefully simple with an emphasis on local woods and silks. The upstairs restaurant features an atmospheric balcony with views of the main street; a great place to sit and watch the world go by. If you're happy to be a little out of town, their resort is a better deal. There is a shuttle that runs between the two. Be sure to check online for competitive rates.
