More luxury apartment than hotel, Mekong Estate is in an unmarked building just up from the river, across from Monument Books. This great find pampers each guest with their own two-storey enclave. An airy entryway and small kitchen are downstairs with rustic concrete tile flooring and comfortable -- though minimalist -- furniture for lounging. Upstairs Spanish-tiled floors are covered by woven rattan and creamy walls are accented by glossy gray beams. Bathrooms are small but well-appointed with glassed-in shower and chrome fixtures. Beds are outfitted in crisp whites and thick mattresses ensure a pleasant night's sleep. Balconies provide the finishing touch on these near-perfect abodes. Wifi and airport transfers are included. The catch? They're only available by the week -- but when you see them you'll want to stay that long anyway.
