Description
Rooms are small but charming at this Austrian-owned spot in a tranquil part of town close to Wat Xieng Thong. This quiet house has four double rooms and a pleasant shared living area that features a small but expanding art collection, and tea and coffee for guests. Rooms are decorated with subtle textiles and soft light, with clean private bathrooms and air-con. A well-kept garden and outdoor seating adds to the calm vibe of the place and make great spots to lounge about with a cup of tea. Owing to this and its off-the-beaten-path location, Tum Tum Bamboo is able to maintain its equanimity while still easily walkable to the action.

Khem Khong Rd, Ban Wat Nong, Luang Prabang
Tucked away down an obscure, quiet laneway, Sok Dee Guest House is hard to find in its upmarket local residential area, which is still near all the tourist essentials and the Mekong River. Rooms are spotlessly clean, all include bathroom with hot shower and -- miraculously for Laos -- relatively... more
Khoun and Khone Guesthouse
Outskirts of Luang Prabang
A young family runs this lovely guesthouse just outside Luang Prabang. A collection of private bungalows, set on a small farm and surrounded by rice fields, it's a peaceful place to relax. Both husband and wife speak great English, and the kids are cheeky. They serve meals on site, and organise... more

Ban Xieng Mouane, Luang Prabang
Sivilay, also known as Silichit, is a popular guesthouse, on a street just off the Mekong, with very clean rooms and an eager-to-please staff.
