Sackarinh Guest House
Air-con on a budget
What we say:
Set back from the main road and just behind the cheap open-air eateries favoured by many a budget traveller, Sackarinh is a decent backpacker guesthouse with a good central location. The rooms come with air-con, free WiFi, wardrobe, small table and chair and a bed with a cheap mattress. The bathrooms have hot water showers and Western toilet – everything else about this place is unremarkable. To find it, head down the alleyway opposite The Pizza. This is not a bad choice for budget travellers wanting air-con.

Great place to stay
We stayed at Sakharinh GH for 2 nights early Dec, then 6 nights over new year and would wholeheartedly recommend it: the central location is ideal; the staff are extremely welcoming and friendly (and several spoke reasonable English); the rooms are comfortable and spotlessly clean. And the noodle stall at the top of the alley is one of the best!

Decent, but other options
Arrived here late a night (7:00) so our reservation had been given up, as we had booked the fan room with share bathroom. We opted for a discounted air-con room for 12 dollars for 1 night. Nothing too special about this guesthouse; at least nothing that makes it stand out. Its centrall located, and the staff are nice enough, and the beds and rooms are decent, but we found MUCH better rooms right across the alleyway at the Cafe Croissant D' Or, which also had a bakery. 9 bucks for a fan room that was soundproof and like a cave at night.
