The younger sister to the first Villa Sokxai in the centre of town, this small hip spot is just across from Luang Prabang's most vibrant night-life, though rooms manage to block out the noise when it's time to sleep. The building is painted a vibrant yellow and an impressive inlaid stone facade adds a rustic touch to the funky, though refined reception area reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland. Upstairs rooms are spacious and boast beautiful bathrooms with relaxing tubs and purposefully placed stone paths on floors. The most expensive have huge balconies from which to watch the busy road below. Some have threadbare carpeting while others showcase gleaming hardwood -- the latter are the ones to go for. Downstairs rooms are similarly furnished but lack bathtubs and are a bit on the small side. All rooms have air-con and satellite TV rounding out this well-located and well-appointed spot.

* Travelfish researchers visit and review properties on an anonymous basis. By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms. The rates you see above are what either the desk staff told us they were, or what were in the brochure when they just told us to quit bugging them and look in the brochure. nice place - 25th February, 2010
I stayed nearly a whole week in this place. The rooms are huge and especially the wooden floors ones are great. The bathrooms are also quite big with a bad instead of a shower. The staff is friendly, they also kept my backpack for a few days while I went trekking. They clean the rooms every two days. I only payed 15USD a night. The downside is probably that it is a little out of the city center, but everything is walkable in Luang Prabang.
