The rooms at Bougnasouk are plain and functional, but for the price, it's one of the better options in the neighbourhood, with a great location on the banks of the Mekong and just around the corner from the main street and old quarter. Although some of the rooms are a bit poky, they are at least light and airy. All rooms are fan-cooled, and while clean, they would not pass the white glove test. Due to the proximity of neighbouring buildings, the silversmith next door and the attached restaurant -- which serves very good food and is one of the best options in town for vegetarians -- it can get quite noisy from early in the morning.
