Riverside Guest House

Popular with good reason

The bungalows at Riverside Guest House are among the nicest in town. Wooden interior walls give each of the large rooms a more finished feel. Mosquito nets hang above comfortable beds while hammocks hang on the wide shared porches. Although the bathrooms emphasise cleanliness over sophistication, having an attached squat toilet and cold shower is still a luxury. Unfortunately, because Riverside offers only four units, they are often booked solid. The restaurant is also popular with a small menu that attracts guests from all over town.

Riverside Guest House reviews

Great value - 25th January, 2010
There might be smarter accommodation in town now, but this is a comfortable choice. The tiny restaurant serves great food (try the Spring Rolls) and cold beer. Prices for both food and accommodation seemed to be below the average, making it a very good deal. The lady who runs the place is a lovely character and gently persuasive (''I think you should stay one more night...'' - we did!). Payment is in Kip only, but the guesthouse next door will change dollars. Still no hot water here, but you can get a steam bath and hot (bucket) shower at the other end of town for 15000 kip.
