Remote with hot water
Upriver from the boat dock
Phetdavanh 2 is inconveniently located down a dirt path runs beneath the pavilions that make up Lattanavongsa restaurant.
After a short walk along the river bank the bamboo bungalows come into view. They’re basic things as are all bungalows in Muang Ngoi with soft beds, mosquito nets and nothing else. The bathrooms are bright and clean and have solar hot water – the real deal! Unfortunately on rainy days the water barely gets above lukewarm, but beggars can’t be choosers. The views over the river from this place are better in the dry season than almost any other bungalow in town as there is no big island in front. In the dry season the lot floods anyway and the view is just the same as anywhere else. It’s an isolated sort of place that will suit some and not others – it's overpriced by about 10,000 kip compared to the competition.
