What we say:

Set back slightly from the river, Lin Thavong has a mix of new and old bungalows with small price tags. New A-frame bungalows are spartanly furnished with the usual double bed and mosquito netting but have attached bathrooms with hot showers and Western toilets. Each bungalow has a comfortably furnished balcony, some with table and chairs, perfect for relaxing in the fresh air even though they don't have much of a view. Older bungalows cost half the price but you'll have to make do with shared squat toilets and cold water. Though the sign claims the staff speak English and French this isn't quite true, but we can't fault them for their effort or friendliness.

Cheap and cheerful

We stayed for 2 nights and as the review says its same same as the rest of the huts (apart from the expensive Riverside huts) but you can't fault the host. Each night we had a fire lit for us and offered to boil water for a hot shower. Just a note - if you go in Jan take warm clothes, its freezing at night. Excellent value for 30k kip.
