If you walk up the main street from the boat landing, this is the first guesthouse you'll find, although Nam Ou Guesthouse has a sign closer to the river. The outside doesn't promise much, but the inside is quite clean and welcoming with friendly staff and a reasonable amount of English spoken. Some rooms are quite big, holding one big and one small bed. They are pretty clean, with basic amenities. One room has its own bathroom with squat toilet and cold shower. All other rooms share facilities. The rooms at the front have reasonable river views. The downside to this hotel is the walk to find a meal. You either have to risk the rubbish tip under the Nam Ou Guest House or hike up the hill. The flip side is that you are very close to the boats and the river (or bus to Vietnam). Electricity runs from sundown to 22:30.
