Description
Sensaly is run by a lovely family. The entrance is their house, and access to the separate guesthouse buildings is via their open kitchen. Rooms are simple, smallish and homely but clean, with a mosquito net and tiny bathroom with squat toilet and cold bucket wash. Every night, the family will bring a thermos of hot water which can be used to make tea with the supplies provided in the room or to warm up your shower. A shared front balcony looks over Phongsali, while the back windows look out over mountains. It has a really comforting atmosphere, even though it's not the best in town.

Phongsali Hotel
Basic and clean, but no atmosphere.
The Phongsali is a big, white, square concrete building. The lack of atmosphere starts from the outside and doesn't improve any once you're in the door. The rooms are basic but much cleaner than the corridors and external look would have you imagine. Not only are stairways and corridors dirty, they... more

Nangchanh Homsavang Guesthouse

The guesthouse part of this small establishment is upstairs, while downstairs is part family home and part hardware store.
