Description
From the outside, Phouxay looks like nothing special. Walking through the entrance, however, you enter an inner sanctum created by the rows of rooms forming a square around you. The centre of the square is a recently untended but generally well-groomed garden, dotted with salas to sit under. Rooms are small, but very clean and well looked after. They have a fridge and TV, which supposedly has English channels but on last visit were not in evidence, with towels, soap and water provided. All rooms can be either fan-cooled or air-con, and have a private bathroom with hot shower and western toilet. A sign in the room is wishing you have a good dream and have a safe travel home. A restaurant is also on the grounds.

The entranceway is dark and bare, and you'll feel like you're intruding on the staff watching TV when you arrive. But the staff warm up eventually, and the rooms are decent - quite clean with a fan, large bed and other furniture. Private bathrooms are large and have a hot shower and western toilet.... more
