Phai Nan Guesthouse
Interesting bathroom arrangement

What we say:
This little guesthouse tucked off the main street behind the bus station, up near the market, is easy to miss. The sign is there, but make sure you keep a good look out for it. It has generously-sized rooms, with concrete floors and wooden walls which give off the refreshing scent of pine. Otherwise the rooms are basic, most with one large and one small bed, as well as mosquito nets. The rooms are clean and well cared for, as is the whole guest house. Bathrooms are separate. To wash, choose between a rickety outdoor unroofed bamboo hut, next to a well of fresh water; or an actual, well-looked after bathroom with squat toilet and a basin of rainwater. The bamboo hut has definitely seen better days, but it is clean (apart from the gathering slime on the floor).
