You will need to get a tuk tuk to this resort, one of the few in town that requires transport to get to. It is set high on a hilltop overlooking Phonsavan, with rolling grassy hills and forests of pine trees as a back drop, Phuchan consists of several large wooden bungalows. Each bungalow is large and is divided into three separate suites with a bedroom and bathroom. Rooms are decorated in simple but lovely log cabin style and really remind you of alpine log cabins. They are furnished with beds, mosquito nets, matching furniture, and windows overlooking the pine trees. Bathrooms are very clean with a hot shower and western toilet. Each bungalow has a large balcony out the back, looking out over the rolling views, while front balconies face in to a pleasant garden. The view is worth the extra money and this is one of the few places in town which offer such relaxing and tranquil accommodation. A quiet and private place to stay, and a little more upmarket than most of the other guesthouses in Phonsavan. If you are staying in town for a little while and want some luxury at a slightly higher price then the Puchan Resort is a great choice.
