The most southerly of the guesthouses worth staying in, Vongpaseud is a quaint guesthouse at the back of a typically ramshackle shopfront and family home.
The cheapest rooms are of wooden construction and come with fan, hot water and Western toilet. They're charming and a steal at this price. The pricier air-con rooms shun the charm and are made of concrete. Despite the air-con, we think they're inferior to the wooden rooms. There's a nice communal balcony/restaurant on the river which is perfect for a beer. Free WiFi is available, making this a fantastic deal for budget travellers.
