Brand spanking new, has air-con
1km east of Na Hin, on the main road
Khammuan Province

Description
This brand, spanking new place was still under construction when we visited -- only two rooms were available, but more are being added, and there may be as many as 20 rooms by the end of 2007. The expat owner and his Lao wife are clearly gambling on the rising popularity of the Konglor Cave tour to fill the rooms, and hoping to lure people away from the slim pickings elsewhere in town. It looks like they are off to a pretty good start. All the rooms are doubles -- well furnished, though the decor isn't as nice as at the Seng Chan -- most of it looks like it was ordered at Ikea. Still, they all have air-con, private, hot-water bathrooms with western-style toilets -- TVs with UBC cable television are on the way. Internet should be up and running in February of 2007, free to guests. The prices right now are at a 'special introductory rate' but expect them to rise in the future. There's a restaurant on site.

Good value -
By GandN ( total comments: 9  More information please ) Stayed here 12/2007
The expat owner has left, so it is now his Lao wife running the guesthouse and restaurant and some of the things mentioned above (internet and cable TV) have not materialized. Nevertheless we had a great value very clean and modern double AC room with en suite bathroom. Mon, the owner, is very chatty and helpful if a bit impractical - every time we ordered something she had to ride into the village on her scooter to pick up the supplies. Nice location, although it is about 1km walk from the bus drop off in the village.

Seng Chan Guest House
Na Hin centre
It's surprising that an unprepossessing little berg like Na Hin has one of the nicest guesthouses in Laos. The rooms here are first rate -- great atmosphere, great bedding, great decor, great bathrooms and reasonable prices. The service here, however, isn't necessarily great. The owner is helpful,... more

Xokxai Guest House
East of Na Hin on the main road
This place, 400m east of Na Hin proper along the main road, has nicely done-up rooms in a rustic wooden building. We got a nice vibe from the place, and the staff seemed really accommodating, though little English was spoken. It's certainly not as nice as the Seng Chan, but you can get cheaper... more

Nha Nghi Guest House
Na Hin bus station
This place is just a flop house for people waiting for a bus, but as a fallback option, its much better than the S.P. Guesthouse. It's in a better location and the rooms aren't as grim. Don't expect much -- simple, shabby doubles with private squat toilets and insufficient interior lighting But... more

Sisuphan (S.P.) Guesthouse
North of the town centre
The large wooden building you first see when on the grounds of the S.P. Guesthouse looks promising, but that's not where the rooms are -- those rooms are rented by the month to locals. The guesthouse is an unattractive cement building in the back next to a stagnant creek. The rooms are cramped,... more
