Southida Guesthouse
Slightly better than the most basic

What we say:
The rooms at Southida are air-con and have not changed a whole lot over the past half decade or so. There's no doubt that these are budget rooms, but they're more comfortable than the likes of Khammouane Inter and as such you pay slightly more. Rooms come with big, slightly stiff beds, cable TVs and clean hot water bathrooms. WiFi is available in the lobby but does extend to some of the rooms -- ask for those rooms specifically if you want to ensure you can access the WiFi in bed. This guesthouse is centrally located near the river and close to a couple of good eateries. This would be more suitable for those travellers on a budget wanting something slightly above barebones cheapy.

sleezy one
we made reservations the day before. when we arrived, late the next day we were given the (only?)room without windows. this can happen when you arrive late but the attitude of the person receiving us was not friendly at all! so we checked out fist thing the next morning.and the room wasn't that clean either. one more thing: we didn't see much of a restaurant here. and the food we got that unfortunate night was nothing to write about! we do recommend the Keyson Restaurant, in the alley in front of southida gh. big menu, excellent korean bbq and suki too!

Huge Rooms
Seriously, this was the biggest room we had our entire trip (Cambodia, Vietnam, Lao, Thailand). And it was only the midrange room. We encountered no staff here who spoke English, but they were all very friendly. They were happy to take our rented motorcycle in at night. The food is as good as the above review states. Close to the river, Long walk to the bus station, but would still recommend it. Prices were the same as stated above.
