Tim's is supposed to be the place to be in Tad Lo, but we were underwhelmed. The rooms we saw were in a lodge across the street from reception -- decent rooms, basic wooden bungalows with porches all around -- but not a very scenic location, especially when there are similar options right along the river. Where Tim's excels is in making foreign tourists feel at home, running a lot of services out of the reception area, which also serves drinks and a limited menu. It's also the only place in town with internet -- at a whopping 1,000 kip per minute!

By that we mean they show up, in person, and pretend to be either be a potential guest, or somebody looking for a room for a friend or relative. Where possible the researcher will inspect at least a couple of rooms.
