Savanbanhao Hotel
Reasonable deal though lacking charm
What we say: 
This hotel is set in a large featureless enclosure with four two-storey blocks along with a smaller single-storey longhouse all surrounding a central lobby area. It's a strange set-up with each building feeling like an island in a sea of parking lot, but rooms are spacious and appear to be well-kept if a bit worn, although the 70,000 kip older editions are probably best avoided. All rooms come with tile floors, firm beds, air-con, WiFi, cable TVs and basic hot water bathrooms. Rooms are broken into 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes, the only discernable difference between the upper three classes being a little more space and the addition of a fridge. The Savanbanhao is located near Souannavong Guesthouse on central but quiet Senna Road and the man who met us at reception was probably the most friendly person we met in Savannakhet.
