Description
Staff are very helpful at Thavonsouk, and they speak both English and French. The grounds are tucked away down by the river, between the Villa Nam Song and the Elephant Crossing, and is a much more attractive and unassuming option than either of its neighbours. Rooms have a variety of features, depending on the escalating prices, including fan or air-con, television, a fridge, shower or bath, balcony size (some with sun-loungers), and room size. There is a lovely garden, and a timber plank floored restaurant overlooking the river and mountains popular with sundowners. Thavansouk's grounds also have child-proof fences, making it a favourite with families.

Rooms away from the waterfront are more basic and cheaper. 12USD a night. Ours was a bit damp and musty and a few fittings were held together by toilet paper. Was ok for the price.
Restaurant is in a great location but stick to a beer for sunset. The food was pretty average, uncooked with rather predictable after effects.
We only found a few of the staff helpfull, the owners were too busy watching TV to help and the younger staff just looked bored.
