Le Jardin Organique Vang Vieng has enormous deluxe bungalows by the river amongst well-kept lawns and a stand of mature trees. A quiet spot, it is still convenient to the centre of town. Cool tiled adjoined bathrooms have hot showers, while beds in the room have clean white sheets. Otherwise the room is fairly bare. A wooden balcony provides space for sitting, listening and watching the river flow past. Air-con rooms and smaller bungalows are also available to the rear of the grounds. A restaurant serves wholesome food all of which is sourced at the market and not from any organic garden.

Definitely tranquil - 2nd February, 2008
This is a beautiful spot, right on the river, on the edge of town. The bungalow was simple but nice, and the staff very hands-off but also friendly. It was more expensive than it says here - I think our double river-view bungalow was $12/night.

Nice spot - 8th January, 2008
Well located with good views. Bungalows have thin walls but generally a quiet spot. Room was not cleaned during our three night stay. Restaurant has great views. Food was ok.

New appartment building - 26th February, 2009
Closer to the main road is the new appartment building. It is new, has airon, hot shower, is clean and the beds are really nice. The price was negotiable to 10 dollar per night for a double aircon room. The normal price is 18 dollar. There is a shared balcony with chairs overlooking the neighbours and the river.

Not so good - 18th January, 2009
Le Jardin is in a pretty riverside spot, however they are building two large guesthouses on the grounds. The work starts at 6.30am and continues late, so it's not very peaceful. The bungalow are more expensive than listed here -- they seem to start at 100,000 kip and go up to 200,000 kip ($12-$24). The window in our room was broken so it was cold at night, while the floor had large bumps in the finish and the room was not cleaned in the 6 nights we were there. When we complained we were given a small discount.

Spurge for the AC bungalow - 5th May, 2008
These units are brand new and it's like having your own house. The people who run the guesthouse are great. What everyone says is true: it's nice to be away from the madness of party-central. This area is more quiet and you can still take a walk to the parties. The restaurant was very good too.

Good place - 22nd April, 2008
Peaceful location, not very far from the town at all -- just a 10-minute walk or so, but well away from the drone of the 'Friends' theme-tune. We got a nice new double room bungalow for $22 a night, and it was a good room to be fair. Wooden decor, air-con, fan, nice bed and sheets and a decent view (although not riverside). All in all, a pleasant place to stay.

Great spot - 2nd December, 2007
Good points: Great location away from the madness of Vang Vieng central!, Nice comfy bungalow with litte veranda to sit out on and chill Bad point: can be noisy in the morning cos the bungalows are bamboo.

Recommended - 26th March, 2007
Stayed 2 nights in March 2007 in a bungalow with fan and private bathroom. Lovely spot well away from the circus downtown. Cost was US$10 per night. Great spot to sit and watch the sunset over the mountains. Recommended.

Relaxing - 22nd November, 2006
If you've seen any of my other commets in Laos, I'm an old person travelling with an even older person, and we loved these bungalows and would like to have stayed longer. Just a 2 minute walk to town, and the gardens are now well established.

Great place to chill out - 19th November, 2006
My wife and I stayed here and it was great. Really relaxing with fantastic views of the river and surrounding limestone mountains. The bungalows are large with a comfortable bed and hot water shower. Owners are very helpful and organised us a good tour to the local caves. Recommended.
