What we say:

Nestled on a quiet part of the riverbank, Mountain Riverview boasts a beautiful new three-level wooden building with carved detail on the balconies and eaves. The use of hardwood continues into the rooms with darkly stained hardwood floors and furniture contrasted with crisp white linens. Bathrooms are compact but fit in the essentials of a sink, Western toilet, wall mirror and hot shower. Each room has its own furnished balcony, and the extra charge for the river view is definitely worth it. The older building next door, opened in 2007, is plainer in its outward appearance and the set-up of its rooms, but all have river-facing balconies. They accept telephone reservations, but if you're arriving after 16:00 be sure to stress this so they don't assume you're a no-show and give your room to someone else.

loved this place!

This hotel was well away from the noisy centre of town but we were worried that we would be able to hear the noise from the 'party island' - but no, it was very peaceful. Gorgeous views from the balcony, lovely big room with comfy bed, nice bathroom, free WiFi and free computers in the lobby, free coffee, air-con and cable tv and we paid $10 (80,000 kip) - (it's a bit cheaper in the older building or on a non river view side, but i recommend paying the extra as the rooms are nicer in the new bit). I would definitely recommend this place although did not like Vang Vieng!

Stayed Dec 07, nice place

Paid USD12 for non air-con. Need to walk about 5 minutes to town, but no problem. Does not serve food but can find food within 15m from this place easy enough.
