Nice but overpriced
For a long time Inthira was the only upscale accommodation in Vang Vieng.
Times have changed and the hotel’s appeal has faded. The hotel boasts no riverside location or views, and in fact the ground floor rooms face a solid fence which means the rooms receive little natural light and feel slightly claustrophobic. Instead, we’ll focus on the best room, the superior rooms on the second floor (our photo shown here is taken on the second floor). They are on the small side but manage to feel intimate rather than cramped. They boast solid wood floors, quality beds with crisp white linen, air-con, in-room WiFi, solid wood furniture and TVs. They also have a private balcony with a sitting area giving you an extra bit of space. Room rate includes a good buffet breakfast at their lobby restaurant The Kitchen. This is one of the most expensive non-river hotels in town. If a deal can be had on the internet, then the superior or deluxe rooms may well become a good value proposition. But if not, we’d favour a room with a view like Elephant Crossing Hotel or even flashpacker guesthouse Vilayvong.
