With its pretty white exterior dotted with leafy greens, this mid-range guesthouse close to the centre of town has some lovely, warmly decorated rooms. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and run the place as though it was a big hotel, probably due to the regular business visitors they receive. Rooms have pleasant quilted bedspreads, airy windows and an abundance of wood -- floor, desk, chair, armoire... Still, things come together in an agreeable way. Bathrooms, on the other hand, are a mishmash of textures ranging from marble to porcelain to tile. Although it might seem more formal than other guesthouses, the rooms offer good value for money, all having air-con, cable TV and hot showers. Breakfast costs $2.50 per person, but no other meals are offered.

Excellent place! - 12th August, 2008
I have been stayed here every year for the past 5 years. Love the central location. Rooms are spotless and hot water is available! Prices have gone up a bit, but it is worth it. Staff always friendly and helpful.

great place - 25th February, 2010
This is a great place to stay. It is well located, rooms are nice, clean and spacious, with everything you need. One of the only places I actually spent a night in my room. There are a number of nice restaurants in the surroundings. And the staff was very friendly.

thumbs up - 3rd January, 2010
We booked online to stay at Vayakorn House on first arrival in Laos. Rooms were very comfortable , spotlessly clean and the place has a ggod feel -all that polished wood. We came back to Vientiane at Xmas and it is even more polished- a great stay if a little more costly than some will care for.

Good choice - 23rd January, 2009
I stayed here for a week and was happy with the place. I paid $16 not $15 for a single room with en suite, TV and aircon. The staff were really nice and it's in a good central location but there is no guest internet available. The Mixok Guesthouse next door has fast internet. The rooms were cleaned daily.

Rooms good - 16th February, 2008
The Vayakorn is a good place to stay if you can manage to book a room. The rooms are definitely decent. In 2005 I tried contacting them via their contact email. Of course, when I got to the hotel they claimed there was a ''problem'' with the internet. This Feb 2008, I tried phoning them from Luang Prabang. No one answered the phone; this was in the early afternoon. I checked with a travel agent who told me a few other people had told her the same thing. They seem to play reservation games.

Great comfort, small price - 9th January, 2007
Everything is OK in this hotel. Comfort like a big hotel, spacious rooms and super clean. This is not a guesthouse, but a hotel without surprises. Recommended.
