A luxurious choice in the heart of the city, Lao Plaza has all the amenities you'd expect in this price range. Rooms are spacious and outfitted in hushed tones and contemporary Lao furnishings. They are lovely, but generic. The glittering turquoise pool is endless and surrounded by chaise lounges just begging to be occupied. The hotel also features a comprehensive gym and sauna. Many shops and services grace the sprawling lobby -- you can buy an Omega, reserve your flight on Vietnam Airlines, and have a croissant without setting foot outside. The reception can be a bit stuffy but this is a good choice for those looking for large-scale luxury. If size doesn't matter, Settha Palace is a better choice.
