Matahari Lodge

This is a well-run guesthouse with a reputation for providing decent quality backpacker accommodation.

The rooms may be on the small side, but the beds are solid and comfortable, and the decor pleasant. The singles are particularly good value for money. Matahari's communal areas are another plus, especially the small, verdant balcony. Location-wise, it's on the edge of Chinatown, although still conveniently placed for Central Market, Petaling Street and Pasar Seni LRT station. All dorms/rooms have air-con. The only problem could be noise from the nearby bus station. Rates include a simple breakfast, hot drinks and WiFi.
