Strung out over the top three floors of a building along bustling Jalan Sultan, this no-frills guesthouse offers some of the keenest pricing in KL. It has a range of accommodation, from dorm beds through to en suite doubles. The single rooms are particularly good value. Monkee may be basic, but is also very clean. One quirk is that the air-con temperature cannot be controlled because it is shared between two rooms. Rates include WiFi, and a fuller breakfast than backpacker norm. Guests also enjoy a 10% discount on food in the Monkee Bar downstairs.
