With a red paint job to match Stadthuys and Christ Church, the 30-room boutique Aldy Hotel is as close as you can stay to Dutch Square without pitching a tent. Standard rooms are smallish but well equipped with minibar, satellite TV and coffee/tea maker. Family rooms come in a variety of bed configurations and have a separate living area. The real seller is the rocking rooftop cafe with good food, live music and a Jacuzzi overlooking the city. The Aldy has a second, somewhat cheaper, sister hotel in the Chinatown area. Rates include breakfast and WiFi, but not an additional 16% in taxes and service charges.
