What we say:

There's an overload of options for riverside guesthouses, but Oriental won our hearts with its charming owners and backpacker-friendly prices. There are only six rooms and each is unique -- the best is obviously the double room with a window overlooking the river. The rooms are simply furnished but immaculately clean, as are the shared bathrooms. There's a lounge with TV and free WiFi. The location is away from the hustle and bustle of Jonker Street, but close enough to walk there whenever you feel like it. Breakfast is not included, so ask the owners to highlight on the town map where to go for cheap and tasty food.
