Popular but basic, Stardust Guesthouse has its own cafe downstairs where you can watch the Penang speed by on Chulia Street. Upstairs, you'll find average rooms, but that is the case with most of the budget digs that face right onto Chulia Street, and noise is an issue. That aside, the facilities, including the bathrooms, are clean and well looked after. Compared with the fancier hostels on Love Lane, this is competitively priced, but it is very no frills. If you do opt for here, try for a room as far back as possible due to traffic noise on Chulia Street. Staff are friendly and the ground floor cafe a popular spot for a Western breakfast. Computer terminals are lined along the wall towards the rear and free WiFi is also available.
