In a city of beautiful hotels that really deserve the boutique label, 23 Love Lane really stands out. A collection of buildings that date back in some cases to the 1800s, 23 Love Lane was previously the Oasis Hotel (among other things) that was frequently described in guidebooks as a "dilapidated old house" — dilapidated no more. Lovingly restored over three years, the property opened in December 2011 and is our top pick for a heritage splurge in Georgetown. Rooms are divided between the main house, a second section behind and two annexes to the back right. They're tastefully decorated, with the annex rooms being the most spacious and the bathrooms are just lovely. The ground floor of the house doubles as a common area, there is an enclosed garden and a fifth building houses the associated restaurant (which we didn't try but were told was excellent). Comfortable bedding had us wanting to snooze far later than we could. Free WiFi and breakfast is included. Friendly and helpful staff rounded out an exceptional and memorable stay. Highly recommended for a romantic splurge in Georgetown. Be sure to check online for a competitive rate.
