The Andaman Resort
Jungle by the sea
What we say:
This resort is off the same road leading to the Datai Resort but situated lower down the sloping terrain that ends in Datai Bay. The Malay architecture of the Andaman main lobby soars above you in traditional longhouse style. Several restaurants and two bars cater to your every need and there is a spa and pools that lead down to the beach. Even the smallest rooms at the Andaman feel spacious, and all have a subdued decor that incorporates the feel of the sea and jungle that surrounds the resort. Spacious baths, in-room WiFi and flat screen TV round out the room experience. The Andaman is also renowned for its efforts to rebuild a coral reef that lies just offshore and was severely damaged by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Guests are welcome to participate in reef projects or just to experience a guided reef walk at low tide.
