Downtown backpacker crashpad
What we say: 
The backpacker pad in downtown Kuala Terengganu, Ping's has a bunch of rooms on the three storeys above the popular and same-named travel agent on the ground floor. Rooms are mostly with share bathroom (which could do with a scrub) and while they're not going to win any design awards, the rooms are functional and clean, with firm beds (though no top sheet -- not that you'll need it with a fan room). The single rooms are small, but the doubles are well-sized. The one nice touch here is the rooftop cafe where you can get a cold drink, though no food was available in low season. No WiFi though, and no beer. If you are on a budget, this is the cheapest in town.
