A hostel with a view
If you like the Australia Place location but aren't a party animal, this is the hostel for you.
Travellers' Light has a more grown up feel and a beautiful wooden terrace with a view of the jungle or, if you prefer, the communal TV. Other than the fact they have a female-only option, the dorms are pretty standard with six or eight bunk beds crammed into a small air-con room. The private rooms could use a make-over and share the same bathrooms as the dorms. Cleanliness is better than most, especially the toilets which had that just-mopped sparkle when we visited. The staff are easy-going and you'll quickly feel at home. Rates include WiFi and a light breakfast of toast and instant coffee, but towels are extra. Reception is open 24 hours so it's a good choice if you're arriving in the wee hours.
