Arung Hayat is one of the smaller operations on Mabul with 15 rooms in a stilt longhouse overlooking the Celebes Sea. While the rooms are nothing to write home about with a few beds, a fan and a rudimentary shower/toilet, the friendly family who run Arung Hayat are what make it special. They cook delicious Malay food and love to chat with guests between dives. Unlike other budget dive shops, which have a revolving-door of divemasters, Arung Hayat has a dedicated team who will take excellent care of you. Sipadan trips cost 640 ringgit for divers and 440 ringgit for snorkellers. In 2013 they'll also be launching the Arung Hayat liveaboard dive boat.
