What we say: 
Miri is littered with inns, which tend to be ramshackle affairs with smoking allowed in rooms, walls as thin as paper and water-stained carpets. De Central is one of the middling inns, ideally situated smack bang in the middle of the main strip -- but this is one of the only things going for it. The receptionist's level of English when we visited was good, but the foyer was somewhat harshly lit and it felt a little bit seedy. There isn't really anything wrong with the rooms; the room and sheets looked clean, but the furniture was well worn and there was a pervading smell of stale smoke. For a cheaper price at a backpacker's hostel, you will get a much higher quality of room. As a rule of thumb it would be wise to avoid any accommodation with the word �inn' in the name as most are the same or worse quality than this one.
