What we say:

One of the newest additions to Melaka's long, long list of hotels is the Holiday Inn behind the Mahkota Parade shopping centre. It doesn't pretend to have any of the famed Baba-Nyonya charms -- just panoramic views of the Melaka Strait and all the facilities, services and standards you'd expect from an international chain. The carpeted rooms are spacious and modern with flat-screen TVs, mini-bar, WiFi and big bathtubs complete with mini-bottles of spa products and fluffy robes. Amenities include a fitness centre, spa, three restaurants, KidSuites, and the only infinity-edged outdoor swimming pool in town. The Holiday Inn exceeded our expectations and we suspect it'll be luring business away from Melaka's other business-class hotels. Prices below are standard rates (inclusive of taxes and breakfast), but online specials dip far lower. Recommended.
