The facilities are more impressive than the rooms at the four-star Parkroyal Hotel on Beach Road, but it's a reliable choice for this price range. Superior rooms are comfortable but the style borders on bland, so for something with more wow factor upgrade to an Orchid Room with full-length windows to appreciate the view of I.M. Pei's The Gateway building next door. Be sure to make use of the fitness centre and outdoor pool or, for a real treat, a massage at the St Gregory Spa. Sign up for the free hotel loyalty program to avoid the exorbitant fee for in-room internet.
