What we say:

In the same building as Fernloft Chinatown, Service World has a similarly simple arrangement. A residential space has been converted into three mixed dorms, a breakfast nook, and unfortunately just one shared bathroom. That said, the air-con is cold, the WiFi is fast, and the mellow atmosphere is perfect for meeting other travellers. Rates include a meagre breakfast but cheap food is available 24/7 at the nearby market and hawker stalls. The staff are helpful and the owner, Andrew, is a backpacker himself and the son of a famous Singapore documentary photographer — ask him to show you around the gallery.
