With so few players in this price range for ensuite rooms and hotel amenities, Classique Hotel is a slight notch above Mayo Inn -- plush, comfortable beds, TVs and fridges furnish rooms tastefully decorated in warm tones. Classique Hotel is a budget hotel that doesn't feel like one. Classique is the sister hotel of the long-time budget stalwart, Strand Hotel, and with the same formula of good location and functional rooms at great prices, they sure get it right. Located on the fringes of Little India, the hotel is the budget option for those who want to be near the action but not right among it. Recommended.

We just about cried when we got to Classique, after escaping one of the most vile hotels (Tekka: avoid) ever opened. This place might seem more expensive than other budget joints in Singapore but this is one city where you get what you pay for. Classique is brilliant, tremendous value: spotless rooms, big bathrooms, a fridge, a safe and - lo! - a kettle in your room. All this for not much more than we were paying at our shocker. Highly, highly recommended.
