What we say:

Singapore's YMCA-IH attracts a mixed bag — business travellers, holidaying families, new arrivals looking for an apartment, and the rare backpacker. Private rooms have been recently renovated and have a work desk, LCD TV, and mini-fridge. The 'student rooms' have none of these frills, just two bunk-beds in a cramped room with a desk and attached bathroom. Rates include a hot buffet breakfast, internet access, and use of the gym and rooftop pool. Rack rates are comparable to three-star hotels (plus $3.21 for temporary Y membership!), but online booking discounts and great facilities make the YMCA a more appealing choice.
