What we say: 
The Victoria offers everything you could ask for in a budget hotel — clean rooms, helpful staff, free WiFi, and it's surrounded by cheap places to eat. Sure, the rooms are small and a bit stodgy, but did we mention it's literally a five-minute walk to City Hall MRT? Even if you take the teeny standard room all the modern amenities are squeezed inside including mini-fridge, electronic safe and TV with local channels. If you're willing to take the risk, walk-in rates are significantly lower than online rates through the parent hotel company — we were quoted S$120 net for a double room.
