For the location in the heart of the bustling Silom area, Silom Village represents outstanding value; the location is about a 15 minute walk in either direction to Patpong and Sala Daeng BTS or to the Chao Phraya River. The village itself consists of a number of souvenir shops, tailors, a couple restaurants, and a street-side bar, which is a decent people watching venue. Rooms in the new wing are huge, set back from the Silom traffic, while the older rooms are still large, but have ratty carpets and aged bedding. A few internet terminals and a travel agent are located on the ground floor. Not nearly as noisy as you would expect. Good discounts available.
