Description
This boutique hotel is in a good location on stylish Convent Road, making it a great choice for those wanting to check out the array of bars and restaurants nearby. It's just a five-minute walk to Sala Daeng BTS, too. The Swiss Lodge has some of the friendliest and helpful staff in town. The rooms are nothing too fancy, but clean and quiet, though the beds are a bit on the soft side. The hotel features an excellent Swiss restaurant specialising in fondue. This is a very popular choice with business travellers so reservations are a good idea and internet packages are available at reduced rates.

This landmark building on the corner of Sukhumvit and Rama IV Roads, is an ideally located luxury hotel with a long history as well - it was once the tallest building in Bangkok. Holiday Inn Bangkok
981 Silom Road
A favourite among tour groups and Australians, the Holiday Inn is... well, it's a Holiday Inn. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and the spacious restaurants mean it never feels quite as crowded as it generally gets. All rooms are decked out in a typical Thai style. Deluxe rooms were... more
Narai Hotel
222 Silom Rd, Bangkok
A package tour favourite, the Narai gets a thumbs down for letting annoying touts clog the front area with their clapped-out Datsuns. For this reason alone we'd advocate a boycott, although they seem to have tamed a bit recently. They must be offering tour groups fantastic rates as occupancy levels... more
Tawana Ramada Hotel
80 Surawong Rd, Bangkok
Within spitting distance of Silom Road, the Tawana Ramada is a bit quieter though still on a busy road. Almost fronting onto the northern end of Patpong, touts can also be a very big pain around here. The 2006 upgrade to superior rooms was well done and the 2007 renovation to deluxe rooms should be... more
